Premier Surgery Packages Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my procedure be performed?
If you’re a candidate for outpatient surgery, your procedure will be performed at the Premier Surgical Surgery Center on Papermill Drive in Knoxville. The facility is certified by the State of Tennessee as an Ambulatory Surgery Treatment Center.
Is a consult needed before surgery?
Yes. A consultation with a Premier Surgical physician is required before a surgical procedure can be scheduled.
What if I don’t know which Premier Surgical surgeon to choose?
If you don’t have a preference, our team will select an appropriate surgeon for you from our qualified, experienced physicians. Your surgeon will determine if you are an appropriate candidate for outpatient surgery.
What if I’m not a candidate for outpatient surgery?
Not every patient will qualify for outpatient surgery at Premier Surgery Center. If your case is more complex, your procedure will be performed at one of our local hospitals. Our Premier physicians perform surgery at Fort Sanders Regional, Parkwest Medical Center, Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center and Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville.
Please note: Our package pricing does not apply to hospital-based surgeries. If, based on the surgeon’s evaluation, a hospital setting is required, we will assist in planning with the facility.
What if I am not a candidate for any surgery?
An initial office consultation fee of $260 is included in the surgery package. If surgery is not indicated, you will be charged the $260. If you have surgery at a hospital with one of our surgeons, the fee will be billed to your insurance plan.
What is included in the package price?
Each package includes the fees for your surgeon, the facility, and anesthesia. There is a separate $260 pre-surgery physician consultation fee. The total surgery price may vary depending on the complexity of your procedure. Please note: If you have bi-lateral or multiple procedures during the same surgery, the price could be higher.
What is NOT included in the price? Will I receive a bill from anyone else?
The package price does not include the $260 pre-surgery consultation, pre-surgery diagnostic studies (such as imaging, labs, EKG and blood tests), outpatient medications or travel. Pathology tests during and after surgery are not included in the package cost.
How long is the quoted price valid?
60 days.
How and when do I pay for my surgery?
After your Premier surgeon establishes you as a candidate for surgery, his or her office manger will discuss your payment options with you either via phone or in person. Payment arrangements will be made prior to scheduling your procedure. All payments are made to Premier Surgical Associates.
What payment methods are accepted?
Premier Surgical accepts cash, major credit cards, and cashier’s checks.
Can payments be made?
Payment in full is required prior to the day of surgery. No payment arrangements can be made. These discounted prices are otherwise not available.
What if I have insurance?
If you have insurance, our office manager will discuss your billing and payment options with you.
What happens if I have complications?
Expenses or fees resulting from complications subsequent to the surgery and discharge from the facility are not included.
Will there be an extra cost to me if there is a complication with my surgery?
For cases performed in our office-based surgery suites we offer, as an-add on option, an insurance policy that will cover any complications. Our office manager will discuss those with you.
